TITLE: Photo Analysis
Find20 photos online (make sure they are class appropriate). In a single blog post place each image and type your analysis of why that photo is appealing. There is no exact word count needed for each analysis but you will likely need at least a paragraph or two for each photo.
Use the following guidelines to help form your responses to each photo:
Study the photograph for 2 minutes. Form an overall impression of the photograph and then examine individual items. Next, divide the photo into sections and study each section to see what new details become visible. (THERE IS NOTHING TO WRITE FOR THIS ITEM JUST SPEND TIME LOOKING AT IT)
- What’s the main subject in the picture?
- What do you see? Use descriptive words as they will help to paint the picture
- Where do you think the photographer was standing when taking this picture (from above the subject, below, straight on? This is called POINT OF VIEW)
- Based on what you have observed above, list three things you might infer (guess, speculate, surmise) from this photograph.
- What questions does this photograph raise in your mind?
- What was the photographer’s motive (what reason did they take the picture)?
